Marie E. Kister, age 86, of Shreve, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her residence. Services will be held  1:00 p.m. Saturday at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Wayne Co., 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH  44691. She was born April 14, 1926 in Shreve to Ben and Elsie (Force) Snyder and married Harry “Dud” Kister. She was a member of the Ripley Church of Christ(where she taught Sunday School for many years) and the Leaf and Petal Garden Club. She had been a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Leader. She  had been employed at Rubbermaid for 23 years and worked in a Defense Plant during WWII.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years Harry “Dud” Kister, three children, Karen (Tom) Myers of Stow, Marv (Kathie) Kister of Lakeville, and Larry Kister of Shreve, six grandchildren, Jason (Brooke) Myers, David Myers, Eric Myers, Bryan (Kristin) Myers, Mark (Kristy) Kister, and Laura Kister, three great-grandchildren, Logan Kister, Landri Kister, and Abigayle Myers, and a sister Darlene (John) Tope of Wooster. She was preceded by her parents, a sister Alme Jean Miller, and a brother Walter Snyder.
